About the artist
From a young age, drawing and painting has been part of who I am.
After 4 years at Art College, I embarked on a career in graphic design. When I was offered redundancy from a Graphic Design Consultancy, I seized the opportunity to venture into freelancing. Over the years, I have taken on various commissions, collaborating with design agencies and direct clients across London and the South East.
Meanwhile, I painted whenever I could, primarily in watercolours. As time progressed, I ventured into oils and more recently, acrylics. Today, I focus on painting landscapes using acrylics on gesso'ed hardboard, meticulously sanded to create a smooth surface for my work. The fast-drying nature of acrylic paint necessitates my work shows an immediacy and spontaneity that infuses my art with dynamism and expression. I feel my paintings transform familiar Barnes’ landscapes — the pond, the common, the riverbank — into studies of light and colour.
I have had the privilege of exhibiting at the OSO Easter Art Fairs in Barnes, the Roehampton Club, and recently as part of the Barnes Artists' Summer Show and Art Fair 2025.
